Tenacity and Hard Work

I have been receiving a lot of encouraging emails since my last post for me to keep going. Some thought I intend to give up on this "SBI! - Profitable Web Business or Bust" blog, while some thought I was going to quit the net business all together.

I actually contemplated to stop my SBI! site..., which will result in the deletion of this blog as well..., to concentrate solely on my non-SBI! site.

I'd also revisited the SBI! Forum after a long absence, which turns out to be invaluable. Surprisingly, there are a number of SBIers feeling the same way I do with their sites.

In the final analysis, it's all about tenacity and hard work..., and I do need more than one site to capture sufficient traffic.

After a much needed thought, I guess only losers quit.

So, I will not quit my SBI! site as well as this blog - at least for now - even though it is hardly comforting to know that only a handful of surfers actually found this blog.

Just that, I'm beginning to run out of idea of what really to post since my SBI! site doesn't have much to report anyway.

If you have a good idea of what this blog should post, do feel free to let me know. I'll be most grateful.

Finding it hard to cope

All of a sudden, I'm finding it really hard to cope with my SBI! site.

It is really the Tortoise Way of web business and it's getting tougher each and everyday as besides my increasingly demanding day job, I still have to run my non-SBI! site, which is the main site for my side business - a physically-operating licenced travel operator.

When I started with SBI! almost two years ago, I was hoping to complement more traffic (and sales) from my SBI! site to my main non-SBI! site.

Yes, traffic has improved somewhat but...,

Now, here's the "but".

I was really hoping, or rather wishing that SBI! can continue to increase traffic to my main site without me having to spent too much time.

At first, it was all about building, building and building.

That's ok. I really had some fun.

But almost two years in, it seems that once I stop building for awhile, traffic will be stagnant or even less.

Also, traffic or unique visitors did not multiply as envisaged.

I'm not sure..., but I'm feeling a bit down due to all the extra stress of having to constantly build and run the site, a site to complement my main site.

Now, I'm thinking, why didn't I simply focus entirely on my main site? Did I have too high a hope in SBI!?

I dunno. I'm just tired...

Anyone with some ideas, please let me know what I'm doing wrong, or did I made a mistake of using Site Build It! in the first place.

Any comment is most welcome.

Don't Underestimate the Power of Offline Marketing

A lot of online based businesses forget about offline advertising. They focus almost entirely on online advertising. SiteSell always explain that it is important to combine offline and online advertising together in your marketing campaign.

You can market offline more effectively by targeting people that actually have access to the internet. In all your advertising you want to include your web site address, e-mail or autoresponder addresses, and the e-mail address to subscribe to your e-zine.

You would also want to target your offline advertising to groups of people that will actually be interested in your product or service. For example, if you're selling business books, you will want to market to business owners.

In conclusion, if you have a business that's only based online, you don't want to market to people that don't have access to the internet. Regardless, I do hope that you will not ignore the power of offline marketing in today's ever increasing online sphere.
